Magic Moon Maine Coons will not sell a kitten without a contract agreement being signed and agreed to by the Buyer. Please read the sales contract before you decide you would like to take one of our kittens home or make a deposit on a current or future kitten.
Your kitten is guaranteed healthy on the day of your pickup/delivery. Our kittens come with a health exam done by our trusted veterinarian, wormer, and first vaccines complete. Buyer will receive a copy of the health exam and vaccine booklet. We encourage you to take your kitten to be seen by a licensed veterinarian within 24 hours of your purchase. This is both for our protection and yours.
Taking care of a kitten is a big responsibility. We offer lifetime support and will always be here to give advice on what it will require and some needs that you may, or may not, have considered. We are very much committed to making sure our babies receive the proper care and love they deserve.
This contract will be fully enforced in the State of Michigan and reproduced in the state the Buyer resides in and fully enforced to the letter of the law.
You will receive a signed contract on pickup/delivery day, and I will also retain a copy for my records.
This Maine Coon cat/kitten is being sold as PET ONLY to the approved Buyer ONLY, as listed on this contract. At no time may ownership be transferred to any other person. At no time may this kitten be surrendered to a shelter, given away or sold. If for any reason at all, you need to rehome this cat/kitten, it is to be returned to the Seller, Jessica Churchill of Magic Moon Maine Coons. This does not denote a refund of any kind.
This is a family-first cattery. Simply put, our cats are our family members. They are cared for and treated as such. There is nothing that comes before their health, safety, and happiness. They live a life of luxury. All kittens are well socialized when they go to their new homes. This is very important, as the breed has a reputation for being very friendly and like to be close to their chosen humans. It is suggested that there be another animal in the home (cat, dog), so they have someone to bond and play with while the humans are gone to work, etc.
This cat/kitten is registered with TICA.
*No cat or kitten sold from Magic Moon Maine Coons will ever be sold, given away, placed in a shelter, sold to a pet store, given to a laboratory, or anywhere else.
*A non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours upon approval of kitten application. This deposit shows us that you are serious about your new kitten and committed to the purchase, or to joining our waitlist. Should we not receive the deposit within 48 hours of approval notification, we reserve the right to move on to the next approved applicant.
*Deposits are non-refundable and will be applied toward the total price of the cat/kitten.
Kittens may go to their new homes between 12–14 weeks of age at the Seller’s discretion.
____ (Initials) All monies paid, including the first reserve deposit, are not transferable to any other parties, nor are they in any way refundable. I fully understand and accept this.
Payment Information: Cash, PayPal, Zelle, Chime, and Venmo are acceptable forms of payment. The Buyer can choose to make payments or pay the full final amount in cash on delivery/pickup day.
Conditions of Sale:
To the best of the Seller’s knowledge, Buyer is receiving a healthy cat/kitten free from any genetic deficiencies and not harboring any disease, virus, or parasites. Seller assumes no responsibility for this kitten/cat after it leaves our premises, and it then becomes the Buyer’s responsibility for all care and medical expenses.
____ (Initials) Kittens may stress with the change of location, diet, etc. This stress could manifest as sneezing, runny eyes/nose, soft stool, or possibly diarrhea. These symptoms are not serious and should go away in a few days on their own. During the initial adjustment period, kittens do best when confined to a quiet room with a carrier, food and water, and litter box nearby. When you bring your new kitten home, it is not advisable to allow them to interact with other animals right away. They should be quarantined for a period of time until they are used to your home, and a slow introduction is always recommended. Animals always stress when going to their new home. It is a huge period of change for them.
The cat/kitten will not be allowed outside unless under close observation in an enclosed catio, or on a leash with harness. Contact with outside cats and unvetted cats is NOT advised. Unvetted cats can carry diseases that are not treatable and you wouldn’t want to lose your precious Maine Coon! We cannot be held liable should they contract any illness, parasite, or disease after they leave our cattery.
This cat/kitten will never be declawed. This is an unnecessary and barbaric surgery that would cause permanent damage to your cat’s paws. There are plenty of options to reduce scratching, and nails can and should be trimmed.
The cat/kitten will receive frequent and kind human attention and not be neglected or mistreated in any way.
____ (Initials) I understand I must contact the Breeder first before attempting to give up or rehome this cat/kitten. If Breeder finds out the cat/kitten has been rehomed or sold without first being offered back to the breeder, a fine of $2,000 will be due to the breeder within 30 days.
Buyer agrees to remain in contact with the Breeder and keep them updated on the kitten. This is important to maintaining the integrity of the breeding lines as well as to prevent the kitten from being given away without authorization. We also LOVE to see update photos to see how our kittens have grown!
Alterations/Breeding
Kittens and cats purchased from Magic Moon Maine Coons MUST be spayed/neutered at the expense of the Buyer.
Females: recommended age 6–9 months, no later than 1 year from birth.
Males: recommended age 7–10 months, no later than 1 year from birth.
This is our recommended age due to studies that show that removing hormones too early leads to health and bone issues later in life.
TICA registration paperwork will be provided upon receipt of Proof of Spay/Neuter.
AT NO TIME are any Magic Moon Maine Coons to be used for breeding without express written consent of Magic Moon Maine Coons.
If we find that any cats have been sold, or intentionally or unintentionally bred, the Buyer of said animal will pay the full breeding right fee according to that specific litter, and then each time a breeding occurs. The fees are as follows: $3,000 for each breeding, plus $2,000 for each kitten born, whether they are full blood or mixed.
Magic Moon Maine Coons retains the right to take legal action to receive these fees if not paid in full within 30 days or finding a cat or kitten has been sold or bred.
All legal fees will be at the expense of the Buyer of the kitten/cat purchased from Magic Moon Maine Coons.

We, the signing parties, consider this document to be legally binding. All parties must initial any changes or additions to this contract.
